Netflix: what movies to watch in July 2021? – Cinema News

THE UNAVOIDABLE

July 9: How I became a superhero

Initially planned in theaters, the long-awaited French blockbuster will be available on Netflix. Signed Douglas Attal, How I became a superhero can count on an exceptional cast: Pio Marmai, Vimala Pons, Leïla Bekhti, Benoît Poelvoorde and Swann Arlaud in roles of vigilantes and super villains.

Combining a universe of superheroes and a detective thriller, How I became superhero follows the dangerous but epic investigation by Lieutenants Moreau and Schaltzmann into the proliferation of a mysterious drug that is spreading among young people and which gives them superpowers .

Even if the supermen are trivialized and perfectly integrated into the society depicted in the film, the prohibited substance causes havoc and multiplies the incidents which will make the investigation of Moreau and Schaltzmann more difficult than expected.

July 30: The Last Mercenary

JCVD is back to break arms! In the action comedy The Last Mercenary, Jean-Claude Van Damme plays Richard Brumère, a mysterious former secret service agent who has returned to France to save his son, whom he has never met.

During this high-flying personal mission made of kicks, Richard will have to escape the government which wants to have him arrested for trafficking in arms and drugs following a pellet of a zealous bureaucrat and a mafia operation.

In this new film by David Charhon (On the other side of the periphery), Patrick Timsit, Miou-Miou, Eric Judor, Alban Ivanov, Assa Sylla and Valérie Kaprisky will come to rub shoulders with the punchlines and acrobatics of the Belgian actor.
